Filipino-American Jonart Joven graduated from college with a degree in telecommunications but was unable to find a job in his field. He worked for Bank of America for 12 years and was laid off last year. He is now pursuing a third career in nursing as he struggles to make ends meet in the economic downturn.

One thing that Jonart could rely on during this time is his family. A typical Filipino family is close knit and it's not uncommon to see two or even three generations living in one household. It is this support structure which helps and urges Jonart to not give up.
